Congenital Vascular Loops

Vascular loops can be seen from birth.

 

These congenital anomalies often demonstrate looping vessels (blue arrow).

 
 

 
 

The accompanying fluorescein angiography demonstrates the arterial nature of this loop. Late images show no dye extravasation indicating a normal artery (and not neovascularization). However, these loops can rarely be associated with vitreous hemorrhage.
