Rim Area

This number represents the total area of the neuroretinal rim (NRR). It is useful for a quick-glance understanding of the extent of NRR tissue that is present. For added clarity, the NRR refers to the neural tissue within the optic disc. It is formed by the conglomeration of axons travelling from the ganglion cells of the retina.
