Sheets in the eye

Vitreous degeneration can take varying forms and has been classified in various manners in the scientific literature. Vitreous clumping in sheet-like patterns (prominent nasally in each image) is one of a handful of presentations of this pathology. It can be challenging to visualize the retina and at first glance this may even appear to be a retinal detachment. However, awareness of this condition and seeing an example can go a long way toward assuring you are prepared for your next patient encounter.
