INTERPRET 006

OCT evaluation is a skill in pattern recognition. While this is not an unusual concept for eye care professionals this is not commonly discussed in terms of OCT interpretation. In this case the patient is an elderly female with macular scarring from remote, untreated wet age-related macular degeneration. The key finding is consolidated subretinal hyperreflective material. Outer retinal tubulation is also present. This image is interactive so feel free to click on a feature from the table and click on it in the scan to assure you can accurately locate the pathology.
