Horseshoe Retinal Tear

56-year-old man with a horseshoe retinal tear following a spontaneous posterior vitreous detachment. There is a small cuff of subretinal fluid around the tear in the pre-treatment image. In the post-treatment image there is too much posterior laser (orange arrow) and too little laser close to the tear (purple arrow). It is important to place only about 3-4 rows of encircling laser to minimize scarring. As well it is important to repeat the laser as the fluid lessens to tightly and completely encircle the tear. Nevertheless, this patient did well without complications.
