Guest Post by Dr Marashi from Aleppo, Syria

This color fundus photograph demonstrates proliferative diabetic retinopathy with clinically significant macular edema. Based on the current literature Dr Marashi elected to treat the patient with anti-VEGF intravitreal injections. In this instance, he chose to delay PRP (panretinal photocoagulation) until the DME improved. Thanks for sharing Dr Marashi. And stay safe. Dr Marashi has developed an online tool to help categorize diabetic retinopathy and triage the management. As one of 63 ophthalmologists in his region he identified a need for education of his colleagues. Check out his work at www.amretina.tk. Can you find the venous beading, venous loop and neovascularization? Select a feature from the list below and click/tap on the corresponding area in the color photo.
